Welcome Back!!!

Welcome back EJHS Orchestra students and families!  I hope you had a great summer and are as excited as I am for what this year has in store for our orchestra program.  This week you will be receiving a handbook (concert dates, etc) and practice card information, please sign and return.
The other big news is we have a NEW FISH!  He needs a name and we will be voting on here soon.  Stay tuned! ~ Mrs. Boyd

Concert MONDAY!

Please don't forget our concert on Monday 5/9
5th/6th grade will be called at 530 p.m. for a 6 p.m. concert
7th/8th grade will be called at 7 p.m. for a 7:30 p.m. concert

Rehearsal TODAY - 7th and 8th Afterschool

Just a reminder that we will have a rehearsal today after school for the 7th and 8th grade orchestra students.  Organizational contest is on Friday so we really NEED this rehearsal.  Specific information on contest was distributed on paper, in Skyward AND in Google Classroom to students!

Today's the Day!

We are taking the 7th and 8th Grade Band and Orchestra students to see the Illinois Symphony!  We are very thankful for a grant that is funding our travel and symphony tickets!  Will try to post pictures later:) Mrs Boyd

Summer Strings Information Available

Unit 5 will once again have the Summer Music program from June 6-10 at Kingsley Jr. High School from 9-11 a.m.  The program will include orchestra class, sectional work, daily performances, a pool party and group performance at the end.  Registration information can be found here: Summer Music Information or you may register online through the link given to students in Google Classroom.

Solo & Ensemble

Solo & Ensemble preparations are underway; 7th and 8th grade orchestra students may participate if they wish.  I have asked them to sign and have a parent/guardian sign a commitment form and turn in by January 8th.  There is also a small fee to participate in this event.  Solos are $8 and ensembles are $4/person in the ensemble.  Please contact Mrs. Boyd with any questions: martink@unit5.org
